Scotty McCreery Scores No.1 With Smash Hit, ‘This Is It’
The song is a letter to his wife, Gabi.
“This Is It,” Scotty McCreery’s heartfelt dedication to his wife, Gabi, has resonated with fans across the country as the song has topped both the Billboard and Mediabase/Country Aircheck Country Airplay charts.
“I wrote ‘This Is It’ for Gabi,” said McCreery of the song he penned with Frank Rogers and Aaron Eshuis. “It’s our song. I played it for her just an hour after I proposed. I sang it to her at our wedding. She’s who I see in my mind when I perform it on the road every night. Watching our love story become my second No. 1 hit is something Gabi and I will treasure always. I am so thankful to country radio and my fans who have stood with me from day one for making my dreams come true.”
Its ascent to the No.1 spot marks McCreery’s second chart-topping hit from this 2018 album, Seasons Change, following the poignant “Five More Minutes.” The record itself debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Country Albums Chart upon its release.
“This Is It” quickly became a fan favorite for McCreery’s legions as he released a music video featuring clips from he and Gabi’s magical wedding weekend.
“They did a great job with capturing all the emotion,” he said of the clip. “I hope fans see how fun of a wedding it was. The music video is very documentary-style. There are moments when you see me all emotional, and Gabi smiling and showing all 32 of her teeth.”
With a No.1 already under his belt for 2019, things continue to rise for the budding superstar.
