Country singer Brooke Eden helped celebrate Pride Month at the Grand Ole Opry this weekend, flipping a country classic on its head. The out-of-the-closet artist teamed up with Trisha Yearwood to re-imagine “She’s In Love With The Boy.”

Appearing on the historic live-radio program for a three-song set, Eden first performed her new tracks “New Shade” and “Sunroof.” But then, to cover Yearwood’s iconic ode to young love, the superstar herself came out onstage. Together Eden and Yearwood changed the words of the song around to make it “She’s In Love With the Girl,” helping shine a positive light on the the LGBTQ+ community. And Eden credits Yearwood with the inclusive idea.

“Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine I’d ever share the stage with one of my heroes, Trisha Yearwood,” said Eden. “Her idea of changing the words of ‘She’s In Love With The Boy’ to include Hilary and my love story is such a beautiful way of putting action behind the quote, ‘Love Is Love.’ Thank you to Trisha and the Opry for helping to create a community of love and acceptance. This is country music.”

Brooke Eden made her return to country music after a four year hiatus this year, sharing the new tracks “No Shade,” “Sunroof,” and “Got No Choice.” The singer had recently come out of the closet as a gay woman, and told Sounds Like Nashville in a special self-penned letter that it feels like her “whole world has opened up.”

She celebrated her engagement to finacée Hilary Hoover last month, and the longtime couple shared gorgeous pictures of their engagement with PEOPLE. Eden is set to perform at CMT’s Concert for Love and Acceptance on June 30, and she’ll also celebrate her first headlining Nashville show at Exit/In on July 22.
