Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkson might not actually be brother and sister, but they sure know how to enjoy a good ol’ sibling rivalry. The celebrity pals went toe-to-toe for a recent episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show.
Marking Shelton’s fourth time on Clarkson’s Emmy winning daytime talk show, the filming got underway with a laugh and the jokes never really stopped. Shelton first walked out and began threatening to touch people in the virtual audience, and then the pair spent some time poking fun at each other with dueling gifts.
Clarkson gave Shelton a purple satin Team Kelly jacket — just like the ones she gives team members on The Voice. And not to be outdone, Shelton wheeled out a giant Wall of Champions, which featured pictures of all the guests who have beaten the ultra-competitive Clarkson in one of her own show’s games.
“I never miss an episode of your show,” Shelton said with a smirk. “And I wrote down every single time somebody has beaten you.”
The fun continued as the friends chatted about their cut-throat contests on NBC’s The Voice and Shelton’s first ever childhood performance — which was at a beauty pageant, apparently. But the real hilarity started with a brand-new block of games. Who knew that Blake Shelton had such an extensive knowledge of Golden Girls trivia? Or that a guy known for his less-than-refined sense of humor would get so much out of tasting fine wine?
“This is actually the first thing I’ve ever done on this show that was worth a crap,” the country star deadpanned.
