Steven Tyler is saying “hello” to Country music with the release of his debut solo album, We’re All Just Somebody From Somewhere, and saying “goodbye” to his mega-successful band, Aerosmith.

During his visit to The Howard Stern Show on Wednesday, the 68-year-old revealed that an Aerosmith farewell tour is in the works.  “I love this band. I really do,” he shared. “I want to squash every thought that anybody might have about ‘the band’s over.’ We’re doing a farewell tour – but only because it’s time.”

When asked if this meant the band would be gone for good he replied “yeah,” and said the fellow Aerosmith member Joe Perry knew it as well.

While timing for the tour has yet to be released, Tyler did note that the farewell tour would probably last “forever.”

We’re All Just Somebody From Somewhere drops July 15. Tyler first solo tour kicks off July 2.
