Lauren Alaina Earns 2017 Breakthrough Video of the Year Award

“Oh no. I'm not good at this. I don't know what to do! Reba McEntire just gave me an award, so that's pretty crazy,” the country newcomer said to the crowd in excitement.

Lauren Alaina made her name known over the past year and earned herself the 2017 Breakthrough Video of the Year Award at this year’s CMT Music Awards.

Presented by Reba McEntire, Alaina found a spot among her country colleagues with the video for her emotionally charged hit, “Road Less Traveled.”

“Oh no. I’m not good at this. I don’t know what to do! Reba McEntire just gave me an award, so that’s pretty crazy! Thank you to everybody at CMT, Leslie Fram, the fans…all of these people up here that I’ve watched get awards every year. You guys have inspired me. I am so nervous–I don’t get nervous. I can always talk! Jesus, I should have said that first. Sorry, God! Everybody, thank you so much,” the country newcomer said in disbelief over her CMT win.

Other hopeful nominated artists in the category included Brett Young for “In Case You Didn’t Know,” Jon Pardi for “Dirt On My Boots,” Kane Brown for “Used to Love You Sober,” Luke Combs for “Hurricane” and RaeLynn for “Love Triangle.”

The 2017 CMT Music Awards air live tonight from Nashville on CMT.
