Taylor Swift Donates 6,000 Books to Pennsylvania Library

Taylor Swift is encouraging children in the town of Reading, Pennsylvania to hit the books. The superstar recently teamed up with publisher Scholastic Inc. to donate 6,000 books to the local library system.

Swift, who grew up in nearby Wyomissing, PA, wasn’t able to attend Thursday’s book donation event, but said she wanted to be involved in helping libraries that have been affected by the troubling economy.

Books donated by Swift will be marked with a white star and a special sticker inside. Librarians hope Swift’s donation will encourage children and young adults to read more often.
