The Band Perry Celebrates First No.1, Books ‘Ellen’ & ‘Leno’

The Band Perry gathered with friends and fellow members of the music industry earlier this week at the BMI offices to celebrate the success of the band’s highly successful No.1 single, “If I Die Young.” The song, which was written by TBP’s Kimberly Perry, recently went Platinum and is currently nominated for Best Country Song at the GRAMMYs. So how does it feel? It sounds like they are still getting used to their success.

“We never thought we’d ever be able to say ‘The Band Perry,’ ‘No. 1′ and ‘platinum single’ in one sentence,” Kimberly said at the BMI party.

The Band Perry has a lot more to look forward to. They just booked appearances on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno (1/28) and The Ellen DeGeneres Show (1/31). Plus, they will hit the road with Tim McGraw on The Emotional Traffic Tour this spring. In addition, TPB is nominated for Top New Vocal Duo or Group for the Academy of Country Music Awards.
