The Voice coaches John Legend, Kelly Clarkson, Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani came together to cover Bob Marley’s “One Love” in a new video. The video begins with John Legend walking down a city sidewalk and finding a piano on that says, “Play me.” He then begins to play and sing the Bob Marley classic. Clarkson then appears from an upstairs window to join him, and Shelton and Stefani step out from one of the homes to add their voices to the rendition.

When they get to the end of the song, the screen widens, and a chorus of people appear in the windows of the building above the coaches, and they finish out the song together. The video then shows a city view with the words, “Together Again.”

Season 19 of The Voice will premiere on NBC on October 19 after being pushed from its original September premiere date. The season will see the return of Gwen Stefani, who was replaced by Nick Jonas last season. Season 18 of the singing competition show saw many changes, as the show had to convert to a virtual format in the middle of the season due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this format, contestants performed from their homes instead of the famous Voice stage.

Blake Shelton returns to the new season as the reigning winner, having coached season 18 winner, 42-year-old Todd Tilghman. Shelton posted the “One Love” video on his social media accounts, reminding followers that he’ll be competing to win yet another season.

“I hope y’all enjoy this! But don’t let all the love fool you. I have a crown to defend,” he wrote.
