Thomas Rhett and Little Big Town did in fact threaten fans with a good time when they opened the 2019 CMT Awards with their new collaboration, “Don’t Threaten Me With a Good Time.”

Rhett launched into the performance at a stage in the middle of Bridgestone Arena, making his way through the excited crowd to the main stage where he joined LBT and Trombone Shorty for the lively track that feels like a celebration.

The three acts were swaying back and forth to the catchy melody, Rhett trading vocals with the group. Maren Morris and Ryan Hurd could be seen nodding along in the crowd, while Luke Bryan and Caroline stood up in support. Leon Bridges was also swaying from his seat while Kelsea Ballerini and Morgan Evans were singing along. The set culminated in a confetti finish and a standing ovation from their peers in the crowd.

“Don’t Threaten Me With a Good Time” is featured on Rhett’s new project Center Point Road. He debuted the song solo during his appearance on Saturday Night Live in March. Rhett is nominated for Male Video of the Year for “Life Changes,” while LBT’s “Summer Fever” is up for Group Video of the Year.
