“Hosting it was a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see how good or bad we did when it actually airs,” he said.

Tonight, the 2016 CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night To Rock will air on ABC with Thomas Rhett and Brett Eldredge acting as co-hosts for the three-hour special. The gig was the first time either had hosted anything and the prospect of leading an interview seemed daunting, to Rhett at least.

“It was interesting, I feel like I’ve gotten pretty good at being interviewed, but actually interviewing someone is a lot harder than you would think,” said the Georgia native. “Yeah, even if you’re friends with somebody like Dierks [Bentley] or Luke [Bryan] or Kelsea [Ballerini] or Carrie [Underwood], you know, now that I’m the one interviewing you, it becomes more of an awkward situation, but those guys are such pros and they helped lead me and Brett a little bit.

While the interviewing seemed to be a little nerve-wracking for the seasoned veteran of the stage, Rhett admits that he had a good time.

“Hosting it was a lot of fun, and I can’t wait to see how good or bad we did when it actually airs,” he said.
