Thomas Rhett delivered a touching performance of his song “Remember You Young” at the 2019 CMA Awards.

The country superstar was looking classy in a black tux as he sat poised on a stool, accompanied by a piano and string quartet that highlighted the sentiment of the song that recalls memories of his friends, wife and children in their youth.

Rhett’s stature was suave and sophisticated, the arena lit up around him as he sang “And no matter how much time goes by / And no matter how much we grow up / For worse or for better, from now ’til forever / I’ll always remember you young.” The simplistic approach, coupled with his earnest delivery, awarded him a standing ovation at song’s end.

“Remember You Young” is currently in the Top 5 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. Rhett is up for Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for Center Point Road at the CMAs, airing live from Bridgestone Arena in Nashville on ABC.
