Thomas Rhett Thanks Healthcare Workers in ‘Be a Light’ Livestream

Thomas Rhett is pitching in to give healthcare workers a big “thank you,” surprising a nationwide group in a recent virtual meet-and-greet.

Unable to tour as the COVID-19 pandemic continues, Rhett hasn’t hit a stage in front of fans in months. But that doesn’t mean he can’t perform. The multi-Platinum star teamed up with Live Nation and Cisco Webex, thanking healthcare pros for their continued bravery with a livestreamed acoustic performance.

“You guys are my heroes,” Rhett told viewers from Banner Health in Arizona and Colorado, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Tennessee. “I have a lot of family who works in heathcare, and ya’ll inspire me to want to be a better human being.”

Explaining that he would probably get “sappy” if he talked any longer, the hit maker then picked up his acoustic guitar and delivered a solo rendition of the perfect song for the moment — the empowering inspirational ballad, “Be a Light.”

Rhett has been on something of a gratitude kick lately. He recently teamed up with Christian music star Chris Tomlin and Florida Georgia Line to release the positivity-filled “Thank You Lord.”
