Thomas Rhett won his first ACM Award tonight (April 3), for Single Record of the Year with “Die A Happy Man.” After kissing his wife on the lips and hugging Florida Georgia Line, he took the stage with producers Dann Huff and Jesse Frasure.

“Holy crap,” he said as he got to the podium. “My heart is beating a million miles a minute and I have lipstick on my lips from kissing my wife. This was written for and about you, baby.”

After thanking Huff and Frasure for producing his six week No. 1 hit song, Rhett also thanked God.

“Holy crap, God. That’s a bad sentence,” he said. “Thank you so much to the Lord, we love you so much.”

The 51st Academy of Country Music Awards air live on CBS tonight.
