For Thompson Square fans, it’s been a long five years waiting for the day that the husband-and-wife duo would put out new music. But all can rest assured now that they announced an album coming to stores in the near future.

Titled MASTERPIECE, the defining record will capture their journey as a family over the past handful of years as well as their growth as a musical group. While it took quite some time to compile the right list of songs to showcase to their supporters, the two feel prouder than ever to release something very meaningful to them.

“This album is called MASTERPIECE, and the definition of a masterpiece is an artist’s life’s work,” Keifer Thompson said of the record. “When we’re 80 years old and we look back, we want to be able to say we’re really proud of all the stuff we did.”

Thompson Square decided to let the music take them where they needed to go, which led the pair down a number of influential paths regarding sounds and vibes. Regardless of their country ties, the duo expanded their musical horizons and hopes to reflect their range throughout each track.

“It is extremely diverse,” Shawna Thompson continued. “We didn’t design it that way, but Keifer and I love all types of music, and I think that shows more on this record than any of the others.”

With a new album also comes various tour dates lined up for the summer, which fans can stay tuned in to the schedule additions on Thompson Square’s website.

MASTERPIECE will arrive on June 1.
