Thompson Square Reacts to GRAMMY Nominations

On the heels of an extraordinary breakout year, Stoney Creek Records’ duo Thompson Square can now add GRAMMY nominees to its list of accolades.

Thompson Square scored a Best Country Duo/ Group Performance nomination for the No.1 single, “Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not.” The Platinum-selling smash is also nominated for Best Country Song.

The husband/wife duo were spending a rare night off in Nashville for some much needed R&R after playing to over one million fans this year when they got the news.

“We both could not believe the news of our Grammy nominations,” said Keifer Thompson. “When our manager told us we really thought he was playing some sort of sick joke on us. We can’t thank the GRAMMYs enough for such a prestigious honor!

“If I’m asleep please don’t wake me up…. cause this is a dang good dream!!” mused Shawna Thompson.

Thompson Square will appear on FOX’s 2nd Annual American Country Awards tonight where they are the second-highest most nominated act with 7 nods. The duo will perform on the live broadcast at 8 pm ET/ 7 pm CT.

Thompson Square will also perform as part of Great American Country’s (GAC) Christmas in the Black Hills. Hosted by Big & Rich, the holiday concert special was shot at various locations around historic Deadwood, South Dakota. Christmas in the Black Hills premieres on GAC on Monday, Dec. 12 at 8 pm ET/ 7 pm CT.

The 54th Annual GRAMMY Awards will be held on Feb. 12, 2012, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will be broadcast live on CBS from 8–11:30 p.m. (ET/PT).
