Thompson Square’s Dream Home Destroyed By Water Leak

Thompson Square

Keifer and Shawna Thompson, who make up Thompson Square, are rebuilding their dream home after it was flooded several weeks ago.

Their Alabama abode sprung leak in the upstairs bathroom while the duo was out on the road and the leak flooded the entire house.

“[Shawna’s] mother went to the house to let somebody in to do some work, and she stepped into ankle-deep water. Literally destroyed the house,” Keifer told ABC Radio. “It’s all down to studs. It’s been a nightmare.”

On top of that, the crew fixing the house ended up causing more damage after backing their truck into the home and destroying the front porch. Keifer added, “I’m just like, just burn it down. What else is next? I’m waiting for lightning to strike.”

The couple was able to salvage some of their possessions, like their ACM and CMA Awards, but have lost the rugs and furniture that had just been put into place. Shawna said, ” It was so cute. One of the guys that came out to help us clean it out, he was like, ‘I can’t believe stuff like this happens to people like Thompson Square!'” She continued, “We’re just normal people like everybody else!”

Despite all of the issues going on, the couple is keeping their sense of humor about the whole situation. They plan on spending a lot of time on their tour bus this summer to support their new single, “Trams Am.”

“It’s not like we were gonna see the house anyway!” Keifer said.
