Tim Dugger is giving a behind-the-scenes look into the shooting of the music video for “You’re Gonna Love Me,” which premiered on Sounds Like Nashville in January. In the song, Dugger sings about all the things he loves, including NASCAR, cold beer, Merle Haggard and more, and then tells a girl, “If you like that, you’re gonna love me.” That sweet country love story is illustrated in the music video, which shows Dugger singing in and around his farmhouse before meeting and having an instant connection with the girl who moves in next door.

In the behind-the-scenes clip premiering on Sounds Like Nashville today, the singer gives some insight into how the music video was personal to him, including the fact that his own wife played his love interest.

“‘You’re Gonna Not Love Me’ was really, not only a personal song that hits home with me, but the video too really tells our story,” says Dugger. “I had my wife in it, I had a lot of parts of who I am — my old hats and flags and old guitars I’ve had for years, so I’m really happy with how it came out and I’ve enjoyed the feedback.”

As Dugger is talking, the behind-the-scenes video shows different clips from the shoot, including the camera crew filming Dugger as he sings on the farmhouse porch, the singer and his wife chatting on set and the crew watching video footage while on location. For Dugger, an important aspect of the song and the music video is that they are true and authentic examples of who he is as a person, and that’s exactly what he sets out to do in his music.

“As a singer and songwriter, at the end of the day when I lay down, I go, ‘You know what? That song was me and that’s who I am,’” he says in the behind-the-scenes clip. “If people like it, that’s great, and if they don’t, it’s still me.”

“You’re Gonna Love Me” will be officially released to radio on August 3rd.
