Tim McGraw Found Quality When Picking Songs For ‘Sundown Heaven Town’ Deluxe Edition

Tim Mcgraw

For anyone who’s picked up a deluxe version of Tim McGraw’s Sundown Heaven Town, they’ve probably noticed that there’s quite a few extras songs… a total of 18, in fact. The reason there’s so many, McGraw says, is because of the quality of material he was able to find.

“I think at the end of the day it’s all about the songs,” he explains. “And that’s another reason why there’s eighteen, from me.”

In the end, he just couldn’t leave any of them off the record. They were too good.

“I couldn’t think of letting any of them go, and not put them on the record,” McGraw, 47, explains. “I think from one to 18 you’re gonna hear a lot of variety of different kinds of songs; a lotta different themes, a lotta different sounds, and I think that every song stands on its own as a really special song.”

One of those extra songs, “Diamond Rings and Old Barstools,” just hit country radio as McGraw’s new single.
