The life of an artist on tour is not one that many get to experience. Toby Keith is making sure that all of his fans get to see what it is like to spend time on a tour bus with the release of The Bus Songs on September 8.

Keith was recently in the top 5 on Forbes’ list of the highest paid country stars of 2017. Success like that grants the freedom to travel off the beaten path and release a humor-filled album.

The Bus Songs will feature 12 tracks that are probably best suited for his adult fans rather than being broadcast over the mainstream radio waves. They are all inspired by the mindset that someone could only reach from sitting in the back of a tour bus for hours upon hours.

The lead single, “Wacky Tobaccy,” is merely a notch in the post of the wild songs that will be on the album. The video, which was fittingly filmed in the style of a huge jam session on Keith’s tour bus, features someone who everyone probably thinks of when they hear the song title – Willie Nelson.

Keith also pays tribute to Nelson with a live version of “Weed With Willie,” a song that was originally a bonus track on Keith’s 2003 album Shock’n Y’all. “Runnin’ Block,” “Hell No,” “The Critic” and “Ballad of Balad” are also songs that originally appeared elsewhere in Keith’s repertoire.

The Bus Songs will be available for pre-order on July 21. Fans can catch Toby Keith on tour through the rest of the summer.
