Tom Hiddleston To Play Hank Williams In Biopic, ‘I Saw The Light’
Iconic country singer Hank Williams will be brought back to life in the independent biopic, “I Saw The Light.” Deadline Hollywood reports that Williams will be played by “The Avengers” star Tom Hiddleston.
Producer Marc Abraham will direct the flick from his own script, based from the book “Hank Williams: The Biography,” by Colin Escott, George Merritt and William MacEwen. “I Saw The Light” will tell the story of Williams’ rise to fame and how it affected his personal life.
Fans can expect a number of Williams’ songs throughout the film, including “Your Cheatin’ Heart,” “I’m So Lonesome I Could Cry” and “Hey Good Lookin’.”
Hiddleston is known for playing Loki in “The Avengers” and “Thor,” as well as starring in “Midnight in Paris” and “War Horse.”
