On Tuesday, Tom Hiddleston appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live in support of the new biopic, “I Saw The Light,” a film about Hank Williams’ life and ultimate demise.

Hiddleston, who took on the lead role of Williams for the film, took the part very seriously, even moving to Nashville to live with Rodney Crowell, a singer known for hits like “After All This Time” and “Old Yellow Moon,” to prepare for the role.

“I took it quite seriously. I mean, I took the responsibility seriously,” he told the late night host. “I knew as a British actor going in to play such a loved icon of American music, I had to kind of give myself to it.”

While Hiddleston wasn’t able to pick Williams’ son, Hank, Jr.’s mind about the role, he did get a stamp of approval from Jr.’s daughter, Holly.

“Holly was really sweet. She wrote me an email and I think she’s really proud of it and she feels like I did him proud,” he explained.

The British actor also opened up about some of the new skills he picked up while preparing to play the iconic singer.

“I can yodel now,” he shared. “There comes a time in a man’s life where he’s called upon to yodel.”

Naturally, Kimmel asked him to show off his new skill. Check it out in the video below.

“I Saw The Light” is in theaters now.
