Trace Adkins Signs On As Blake Shelton’s ‘The Voice’ Team Adviser

Blake Shelton is bringing in a country heavyweight for his The Voice season 14 team adviser. Hoping to take home another win with his team, the Oklahoma native has called upon his longtime friend, Trace Adkins, for help.

According to E! News, the friends and frequent collaborators will lean on each other when The Voice returns in February. Though the duo have known each other for years, it will mark the first time Adkins has appeared on the NBC hit show.

Adkins will help Shelton take his team to the top against fellow season 14 coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine and Alicia Keys, each of whom have also chosen a team adviser. Helping Team Kelly will be Hailee Steinfeld, while Team Adam will get assistance from Julia Michaels. Team Alicia will seek help from Shawn Mendes.

Shelton has long turned to those closest to him when it comes to picking his team’s advisers. Previous advisers to his Voice contestants include Reba McEntire, Brad Paisley, Sheryl Crow, Michael Buble, Bette Midler, Luke Bryan, Rascal Flatts, Gwen Stefani, and Kelly Clarkson.

The Voice season 14 premieres on NBC on Monday, Feb. 26 with the first round of blind auditions.
