Longtime country favorite Trace Adkins has found a new record-label home, and says there’s a fresh batch of music on the way.

With three decades of hits under his belt including “(This Ain’t) No Thinkin’ Thing,” “You’re Gonna Miss This” and “Honky Tonk Badonkadonk,” among others, the baritone-singing star has inked a recording contract with the independent Verge Records. He’ll work closely with label executive and producer Mickey Jack Cones (Dustin Lynch, Adkins’ Love Will …), releasing a new single titled “Better Off” (Hillary Lindsey, Corey Crowder and Liz Rose) March 20 and a larger project to come.

“Trace is a country music icon. We are beyond elated to be teaming up with him on this next chapter of his career,” Cones says in a statement. “I’ve had the privilege of working on all but two of Trace’s records since 2005, so I don’t take this partnership lightly. We have something to prove, and we’re going to prove it!”

“I am excited about my merge with Verge,” Adkins adds. “My desire to create and release new music is as strong now as when I first started. Mickey Jack and I have collaborated on several projects, and I look forward to several more.”

Adkins is currently on the road in support of Blake Shelton’s 2020 Friends & Heroes Tour through March 21 in Detroit. After that, he’ll headline The Way I Wanna Go Tour 2020, kicking off April 15 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.
