Trace Adkins’ Wife Files For Divorce

Country hitmaker Trace Adkins and his wife Rhonda are calling it quits after 16 years of marriage.

Rhonda filed for divorce in a Williamson County Tennessee courtroom on Tuesday afternoon, reports Nashville’s WSMV.

Citing “irreconcilable differences,” Rhonda is asking for primary custody of the couple’s three daughters, child support, alimony, and for Adkins to cover her legal fees.

This news comes on the heels of a tough 2014 for the singer. In January, Adkins entered a rehabilitation facility to be treated for alcoholism after being involved in an altercation with a Trace Adkins impersonator on board Country Cruising 2014. Shortly thereafter, Adkins left rehab to be by his father’s side before he passed away.

Update: The couple released the following statement today, Thursday, March 27, via Adkins’ publicist – “Trace and Rhonda are united in ensuring that their children’s interests come first. They thank everyone for respecting their privacy as they work through this personal matter together.”
