Since breaking onto the country music scene, “Momma and Jesus” singer Tucker Beathard has been hitting the road hard, landing slots opening for Dierks Bentley, Thomas Rhett, Aaron Lewis, and most recently Brantley Gilbert on his The Devil Don’t Sleep Tour.

The tour, which officially kicked off this week, is something Beathard has been looking forward to since signing a record deal with Dot Records.

“I always like to mess around and just have fun and stuff so I’m sure there’ll be some stories by the end of the tour that were fun,” Beathard told Sounds Like Nashville recently. “I don’t know, I guess there’s really no telling because I’m really close with my band, we’re like family, so we mess around a lot and just have a good time.”

The singer/songwriter also recognizes that the opening slot is also a good opportunity him to build new fans.

“I think that’ll be a fun crowd to play for. Some of my favorite shows that we ever did were with Aaron Lewis and he had a pretty rough biker crowd and we loved it. So being able to do that again and do a whole tour with it, it’s gonna be fun to try and win them over,” he explained.

As for what he hopes to see from Brantley during their time together? Well, it’s a little bit of everything.

“I think he’s got a cool style,” said the Nashville native. “It’s pretty rockin’, so seeing like his lights, he does like pyro stuff. I think it’ll just be a fun show to watch.”

Beathard will be on the road with Gilbert through April when the tour wraps in Southaven, MS.
