After the release of his first project, Nobody’s Everything, country rocker Tucker Beathard is back with the lead single for the second installment of his debut double album.

The track, titled “Better Than Me,” is his first major label single, as he recently signed with Warner Music Nashville. The song opens with a slow-burning drum beat accompanied by simple electric guitar chords reminiscent of the arena rock bands from decades past.

“Hopefully you’re somewhat doing better than me,” Beathard sings in the first verse over a muted guitar line. The song’s chorus takes flight as Beathard lets loose and rocks out while singing about missing an ex.

“’Better Than Me’ has always been one of my personal favorite songs that I have written, and I love playing it live,” the Nashville native said in a press release. “I think that the feeling behind the song is something really relatable and I couldn’t be more excited to get to release it and hopefully at some point hear it on the radio.”

Dropping a new song also acts as a way to kick off his headlining Ride On Tour, which begins Friday in Charlotte, North Carolina, and continues through April.

Part one of Nobody’s Everything is available now.
