Two Sons May Be Enough for Luke Bryan

It’s safe to say that life has changed immensely for Luke Bryan over the last five years. After writing songs in Nashville for years, Luke burst into the spotlight in 2007 with the release of his debut single, “All My Friends Say,” follwed by an album, I’ll Stay Me. At the same time that “All My Friends Say” was climbing the charts, Luke reached No. 1 at country radio as a songwriter on Billy Currington’s “Good Directions.” Luke took the success of both of those singles and has never looked back. He’s gone on to release two more albums, Doin’ My Thing and Tailgates & Tanlines, 4 EPs, 5 more top 10 singles, with his latest song, “I Don’t Want This Night To End,” about to reach that milestone as well. Aside from his hit songs, Luke has grown his fan base leaps and bounds by touring relentlessly, both on his own and opening for superstars such as Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean, Tim McGraw, and Kenny Chesney. Seeing Luke in concert, it’s not hard to see that he feels most at home while he’s on stage. Certainly a great singer and songwriter, Luke kicks it up to the next level while performing and is a phenominal entertainer.

As much as Luke’s career has grown over the last few years, so has his personal life. Luke wed his wife, Caroline, five years ago tomorrow and the couple now has two young songs. Thomas Boyer “Bo” Bryan was born on March 18, 2008 and Tatum Christopher “Tate” Bryan was born on August 11, 2010. With the demand of balancing his career with a wife and two little boys at home, Luke says that he and Caroline may be done having kids.

“A year ago, we couldn’t even talk about, ‘Well, we’re not going to go more than a week or two weeks or something [without seeing each other]‘,” Bryan recently told Country Weekly. “It’s been better this year, but right now we’re realists and we just try to balance it the best we can.”

Although Luke says that adding a third child to their brood seems “unlikely,” he does admit that they wouldn’t mind adding a daughter to the mix.

“We’d love to have a girl, but you kind of have to let the path dictate,” he says.

When Luke’s family joins him on the road next year, it won’t be hard for them to find some balance. Luke will once again tour with Jason Aldean on the “My Kinda Party” tour, and Jason has said that he and his wife, Jessica, are completely content with having two daughters and are done having kids.

After taking a break for the holidays with their families, Luke and Jason will hit the road in mid-January.
