Tyler Hubbard and his wife Hayley are about to have a full house as they are expecting their third child in as many years. The couple recently found out that baby no.3 will be a boy with the help of a close friend and a baby elephant.
Before embarking on a special trip to Africa with his Florida Georgia Line bandmate Brian Kelley and Kelley’s wife Brittney, the couple enlisted Brittany for a special task – the gender reveal. Brittney kept the secret as they traveled around the world and up until a day trip to the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust in Kenya.
According to PEOPLE, as they arrived at the orphan elephant rescue and rehabilitation center, Brittney slipped one of the keepers a blue scarf to drape over an elephant.
Before the elephant came out with its decorative garb, Hubbard and his wife explained to their daughter Olivia that if it was a blue scarf, she’d get another baby brother; and if it was pink, a baby sister.
The couple celebrated their big news during a dinner with their children and the Kelleys later that night.
When deciding to do the gender reveal that the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, Hayley admitted that “the safe haven holds a special space in our hearts.”
“Africa has become our second home, and we really wanted to do the reveal with the elephants at the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust,” she shared. “We’re in awe of the inspiring work they do to rescue, protect and preserve these magical creatures. The elephants really speak to us, and this is a cause that we are very passionate about.”
“We were pretty surprised to find out we’re expecting, but having three children is something Tyler and I have always dreamed of. God’s timing is perfect!”
As for how she’ll handle another little brother, Hubbard has no concerns over Olivia stepping up. “Liv is the perfect older sister and we can’t wait to see her with two little brothers to look after.”
Baby Hubbard is expected to arrive this fall.
