Uncle Kracker Ready To Rock With Country Music

Uncle Kracker is no stranger to the country music world, having reached the top of the sinlges charts on his collaboration with Kenny Chesney, “When The Sun Goes Down” and again in 2008 as a co-writer of Kid Rock’s smash hit “All Summer Long.” Next up for Kracker (real name: Matthew Shafer) is more exposure to the country scene. He’ll release Happy Hour – The South River Road Sessions next month, a 6-song release geared towards the country audience. The track listing is as follows…

“I've always had a genuine passion for country. I think that audiences appreciate that, and that's why they're giving me a chance,” Uncle Kracker explains. “Country music was one of the types of music I grew up with, so elements of it naturally come out in my songwriting. Listening to a lot of my songs – all the way back to 'Follow Me' – I feel like I've been making country music for years.”

To support the new release, Uncle Kracker will be making an appearance at the 2010 CMT Music Awards on June 9, as well as performing at Nashville’s annual CMA Music Festival on June 13 at the Riverfront Stage.

From there, the hard-traveling Uncle Kracker will embark on a summer-long tour that will include headline dates as well as shows at both music festivals and state and county fairs across America. For a complete itinerary and ticket information, please visit his website.
