Uncle Kracker Reveals Wife Is Pregnant With Baby Boy
It's a boy!
Singer Uncle Kracker is about to be a father again, announcing that he and his wife are pregnant with their second baby boy. In an interview on the Sam Alex Show, the singer (born Matthew Shafer) revealed that their new addition would arrive this fall.
The conversation kicked off by chatting about his new single “No Time to Be Sober” and the concept behind the accompanying music video.
“After I cut the track, it just seemed like something fun to do and they were like, ‘why don’t we just film a video on an iPhone,” he shared of his kids Madison and Troy. “And I was like well if you think you can pull it off. And that was like right in the thicket of the stay at home orders from the governor. So we just ran around the house and filmed it.”
The interview continued with talks about the kids, with the “Smile” singer explaining his growing brood.
“My oldest daughter just turned 21. My next daughter is 19, she’ll be 20 soon. Then 15. I have three daughters from an ex-wife. Then I have a four year old boy. And one on the way, another boy,” he revealed.
Uncle Kracker then explained that the couple are still working on names, but that Hank is top of their list.
“I gotta be honest, we’ve been kicking Hank around for a name for this new boy,” he shared after learning that Sam Alex’s own son was named Hank. “I had a grandpa named Henry who they called Hank all the time. And while I don’t mind Henry, I think Hank’s better. I love the name.”
He joked, “I got one in the bars and one that’ll be in diapers.”
Uncle Kracker and his wife expect to welcome their baby boy the first week of November.
