That’s it: Vince Gill is officially trading his title as beloved country singer for a position with the Nashville Predators. But it’s not like he’s lacing up his skates either.

In a hilarious spoof video, Gill explains his surprise career switch and blames it on the fact that he needs to make some quick cash now that the people aren’t picking up his records anymore. Gearing up in the classic gray and yellow polo for his new work attire, Gill also admits why he isn’t getting his own jersey and chance to be on the ice.

“I wanted to be a Predator, but I’m too old and fat and I can’t skate,” he explained.

Letting Preds fans know about sizing and trying things on for wear factor becomes Gill’s specialty throughout he hilarious clip as he deems himself a professional merchandising operator within the Nashville hockey team store.

There’s no doubt about one part of his business ethic: the customer service he provides throughout his shift is through the roof, complete with laughter and assistance.
