Vince Gill, Jake Owen, Florida Georgia Line Join 8th Annual Stars For Second Harvest on June 5

Vince Gill, Jake Owen and Florida Georgia Line have joined the line-up of performers for the 8th annual Stars For Second Harvest benefit on Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, TN.

“Second Harvest Food Bank provides such blessings to so many people,” says Gill. “I am honored to be a part of this event and grateful for the opportunity to be involved.”

Presented by The Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee and Hosted by acclaimed hit songwriter Craig Wiseman, this concert features an unplugged acoustic style performance by some of country music’s brightest songwriters and a special performance by one of country biggest stars. Sponsored by O’Charley’s, this not-to-be missed evening helps to raise awareness of hunger issues in Tennessee. In the last seven years, this event has raised $446,032 to feed the hungry in Middle Tennessee. Because each dollar provides four meals, the funds raised from the concert provided Second Harvest with the funds to supply 1,784,128 meals.

Brian Kelley, one half of Florida Georgia Line, is also excited to be a part of the show. “Anytime we can give back and help feed the hungry in our community we jump at the opportunity,” he says. “We are so excited to be part of Craig’s Stars For Second Harvest Show. Hopefully we can all come together and raise a lot of money!”

This is the 8th year for Wiseman to host the show and the first year to host the event during CMA Fest. “Tens of thousands of country music fans will be here that week and will absolutely love being let in on our private party that benefits one of the best charities in the country. Our move to CMA Fest week, when all of the stars are in town, promises to be the biggest and most star studded show we have ever done! We expect to sell out as word gets out to all of those country music fans looking for a way to kick off their first night in town with one of the coolest guitar pulls ever!” says Wiseman.

Songwriters Dallas Davidson (“I Don’t Want This Night To End,” We Owned The Night,” Just A Kiss”) and Rodney Clawson (“Drink On It,” “Drunk On You,” “Amarillo Sky”) will also join Wiseman on stage for the songwriter round.
