Vince Gill Receives Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

20 time Grammy Award winner Vince Gill received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on Thursday, September 6. The iconic singer was joined by his wife, Amy Grant, and dear friend Reba McEntire to celebrate the occasion. Gill’s star is only one star away from his wife’s. The singer reportedly requested that his star was placed close to hers when he learned of the honor.

“I moved here as a 19-year-old kid, as an aspiring young musician,” he said during his acceptance speech. “I don’t know if it’s the smartest thing I ever did but it was by far the luckiest thing I ever did. I came out here with a banjo and a guitar to sunny southern California to try to make it. You talk about one of your all time not brightest moves, that would probably be one of them.”

Grant and McEntire also spoke at the ceremony.

“True friendship is what Vince Gill is all about, not only being a talented musician and a singer songwriter, great family man, loyal friend,” McEntire said. “Love you Vince with all my heart, and I am so proud to be able to share this very special day with you and Amy.”

Grant applauded her husband’s talents saying, “He will go where the music takes him and offer his talent and play along and make everybody else sound better. So it’s an honor to have everyone here to celebrate with him and I’m just so proud to be his partner and get to celebrate this memory with him.”

Fans can see Gill’s star at 6901 Hollywood Boulevard next to Hard Rock Hollywood.
