Brandon Chase The Voice Team Blake - CountryMusicIsLove

The last set of hopefuls gave a strong show on The Voice’s final night of blind auditions Monday (10/7).

Country acts also seemed to rise from the woodwork compared to previous episodes this season.

Coach Blake Shelton filled his last two spots with guitar-wielding singers, Brandon Chase and Brian Pounds.

Chase, who graduated college at just 17, performed Hunter Hayes’ “Wanted.” CeeLo Green fought to be his choice but gave Blake a big “Yes, sir” when asked if he wanted to be a country singer. CeeLo didn’t stand a chance.

Pounds performed “Wagon Wheel,” also while strumming a guitar. Coach Christina Aguilera ganged up on Blake to try and sway the 24-year-old contestant toward CeeLo’s team. After that, things got a little heated. Blake described the thought of CeeLo coaching a country act as an “experiment” (you should watch how the drama went down). Pounds decided to “keep it country” and shuffled over to Blake’s corner.

CeeLo did end up with a guy Blake really liked. He landed Shawn “Big Sexy” Smith after he sang “Chicken Fried” by Zac Brown Band. Blake loved how he worked the crowd but his team was already full, so Smith was whisked over to CeeLo’s team.

Another potential country act could be Lupe Carroll. He performed “If I Were A Carpenter” – a song that’s been covered by several country well-knowns, like Johnny Cash and June Carter. He’ll be studying under CeeLo, so we’ll see what happens.

All the teams are locked down, but before the battle rounds begin, “The Voice” is airing a special re-cap episode so fans can catch up on all of the talent this season has to offer. You can catch it all on NBC at 8/7c.
