First – let us correct last night’s recap which said that each team’s capacity was ten aspiring stars. The teams are considered full after Blind Auditions with 12 members. Our apologies for the error.

While there is still another round of Blinds left after the October 8 auditions, all of the teams are nearly full and the coaches are looking for very specific voices to complete their line-ups.

MYRACLE HOLLAWAY (44), Los Angeles, California – “When Was Your Man” by Bruno Mars

  • Toured with Earth, Wind and Fire, but took a break when she got involved with drugs
  • CHAIRS: Blake, Gwen
  • BLAKE: “I was completely wrapped up in that performance. Your voice sounds like you’re just about to lose it, which is a gift. I would be so excited to sit in a rehearsal room with you every week on this show just so I could hear that voice over and over again.”
  • JOHN: “Thank you for sharing your gift with us. I love the brokenness of your voice. You could feel the pain, it almost sounded like you were crying.”
  • KELLY: (wiping tears) “I’m going to love you so much, I’m so sorry I didn’t turn. I love your voice. My team is just filling up, so as soon as they turned around, I was like, ‘Awesome, she’s on the show.’ Your voice is magical.”
  • GWEN: “You’re using your pain in your voice to tell your story. I get that. Every single song that I’ve ever written almost until I met Blake was about heartache and pain.”
  • Picked: TEAM GWEN

RICKY BRADDY (36), Nashville, Tennessee – “The Story” by Brandi Carlile

  • CHAIRS: Blake, John, Gwen
  • JOHN: “I really enjoyed that performance, my friend. Your range is so exciting. You sound like a gospel singer, especially in the higher notes. I felt the spirit.”
  • GWEN: “I think your voice is incredible. There’s a theatrical side to you… I only have one more space on Team Gwen, so this is a big deal that I turned.”
  • BLAKE: “When I heard that Brandi Carlile song, I was like, ‘Please Lord, help this guy get through this song, there’s no way.’ Of course, when you got to the big stuff, it was like, wow.”
  • Picked: TEAM BLAKE

DAMALI (16), Norwalk, California – “Ocean Eyes” by Billie Eilish

  • Attends military school
  • CHAIRS: Kelly in the last second
  • GWEN: “I have one more spot on my team and I was very close to pushing… some places sounded wild, like you didn’t have a lot of experience, but your voice is so beautiful… if there’s an opportunity to steal you, I will steal you.”
  • KELLY: “I was going to turn way before I did, but I was going to trick them and wait until the last second… I love your voice and I thought you were very tasteful with all your selections.”
  • Picked: TEAM KELLY (by default)

STEVE KNILL (37), San Francisco, California – “Up to the Mountain” by Patty Griffin

  • CHAIRS: Kelly
  • KELLY: “Normally, I’d be like take a little out because it was so much. But it was so beautiful, it was so telling. Your range is incredible, your falsetto is sweet.”
  • JOHN: “I agree with Kelly that if you dial it back a little bit then I think your message will come through a little more strongly, but your raw material you’re working with is really great.”
  • Picked: TEAM KELLY (by default)

DESTINY RAYNE (23), Coral Springs, Florida – “To Make You Feel My Love” by Adele

  • Moved to Nashville to pursue music
  • CHAIRS: John, Gwen
  • GWEN: “Your voice is so gorgeous, it’s ridiculous. I feel like you’re able to really take the lyric and feel it.”
  • JOHN: “What I loved about your performance was you didn’t try to shoot for the moon. You stayed in a certain pocket… You invited us in and made us feel you had a real point of view on this song.”
  • Picked: TEAM LEGEND

JO JAMES (31), Austin, Texas – “It Ain’t Over ’Til It’s Over” by Lenny Kravitz

  • Wife pushed him into auditioning
  • NO CHAIRS
  • GWEN: “This is the crazy part of the show where I have one left, she has one left, it’s like very picky.”
  • KELLY: “Man, it’s a bummer, I know you didn’t want this and we don’t like it either if it makes you feel any better. We know everybody has the same dream we had. Our teams are filling up and we’re being super picky. I’ve got one spot left and I’m looking for something specific.”
  • JOHN: “You really do have an excellent voice and part of what happened, I think maybe, is you tried to put a lot of ideas into the performance and it didn’t feel like it was a cohesive story, but that’s all fixable. But I think you have great raw talent.”

KHALEA (36), St. Petersburg, Florida – “Best Part” by Daniel Caesar and H.E.R.

  • FOUR CHAIR TURN: Blake, Kelly, John, Gwen
  • JOHN: “Your tone is so beautiful. Every choice you made was spot on. You just mesmerized all four of us and this entire audience. You have so much passion, but you also have discipline.”
  • GWEN: “I think my favorite thing was watching you afterward and you were so grateful and in the moment.”
  • KELLY: “I can hear you sing Anita Baker, you would throw down on a Whitney ballad. You just have this really killer voice. It’s a little jazz, but it’s also planted right there in that soulful, beautiful four chords and the truth sound.”
  • BLAKE: “Please pick me. I’ve been doing this show a long time. I am the senior coach here. I’m the only person that has been doing this show every season. I’ve worked with all different kinds of artists, I think I could be the coach for you. I love you.”
  • Picked: TEAM LEGEND

Next week, the first half of The Voice will focus on filling those last slots on each of the teams while the second half will begin the Battle Rounds.
