Members of the B-Team celebrated when Good Morning America revealed that Bobby Bones would be joining the cast of season 27 of Dancing with the Stars on Sept. 24. Among them was Walker Hayes who is looking forward to catching the National Radio Hall of Famer on the hit ABC show.

“Well, A, I’m going to be watching, but B, I’m jealous. I think that would be a blast to just check out and just go dance,” Hayes told Sounds Like Nashville. “I heard it’s hard, but still it’s good exercise. Probably whether you lose or win, I bet you’re a badass dancer when you leave. You have that to show off forever. Everybody has learned so much about dance from that show. It’s hard work and he’s going to be sore. I hope he’s ready. I hope he’s in shape,” he said with a laugh.

DANCING WITH THE STARS – Dancing with the Stars is waltzing its way into its upcoming season, and the new celebrity cast is adding some glitzy bling to their wardrobe, breaking in their dancing shoes and readying themselves for their first dance on the ballroom floor, as the season kicks off MONDAY, SEPT. 24 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT), on The ABC Television Network. He continued, “Man, he’s the best. He’s a lot of the reason why we’re here. I will always support him and I love his new book, Fail Until You Don’t. He gave me some shoutouts in there, and I’m forever grateful to that dude. He will kill it. I’m actually nervous for it. It gets pretty competitive. There are some people who are naturally good going into that show. I have faith in Bobby.”

Someone who also has faith in Bobby Bones’ dancing ability is his professional partner, Sharna Burgess. Just days before the formal announcement, the dancer stopped to talk with the Red Carpet Report, where host Kristyn Burtt asked details her partner.

“He has an incredible personality with a story that I think people are really going to attach to, relate to in some way, shape, or form. He’s an inspirational kind of person, highly successful in what he does,” said Burgess. “I didn’t know of him before the show but in knowing him now he has got such a massive fanbase, too. We’re working on the dance side, he is definitely one of the hardest working students I guess I would say that I’ve had. He’s very difficult—very hard on himself and I have to pull him out of that sometimes, which is interesting. But, I love his passion for it and I love his desire to be in this and to truly learn how to dance even though he’s a complete fish out of water. So, so much respect for him right now.”

Dancing With the Stars premieres Monday, Sept. 24.
