Superstars Carrie Underwood and Reba McEntire are involved in some kind of secret recording project, but what could they really be up to?

The country divas were recently spotted together in a very famous recording studio, apparently there to work with producer and songwriter John Carter Cash. He’s the son of country legends Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash, and the man behind the control board at the family’s Cash Cabin Recording Studio. It was Cash who posted two tantalizing photos of the country queens, but details are scarce.

In a two photo sequence, Cash first captures McEntire standing near a guitar-lined wall wearing a Covid-19 mask and holding a bottle of water, while Carrie Underwood sits on a leather sofa and smiles as she types on her phone. And the second frame finds McEntire sitting in a stool inside the cabin, perhaps getting ready to record some vocals or a video message. But Cash has stirred our curiosity by captioning the series #secretproject.

Could the superstars be involved in a new Christmas album? Are they working on a tribute to Cash’s iconic parents? Maybe it’s a rootsy new duet between two of Oklahoma’s most famous exports? What’s your guess?
