Willie Nelson Hilariously Mocks Death Rumors in New Music Video

Willie Nelson is hilariously firing back at the death hoaxes he’s faced over the past several years with a brand new video for his song “Still Not Dead.”

The new track is featured on Nelson’s new album, God’s Problem Child, and faces the rumors that have been swirling for years about his demise. The clip starts with Nelson waking from a “dead sleep” and going about his day, only to find out that the rumor mill has been churning out stories about his passing.

“Well I woke up still not dead again today,” Nelson croons in the track’s introduction, “The internet said I had passed away. But if I died, I wasn’t dead to stay.”

Nelson wrote the track after seeing the rumors circulating and having many concerned fans reaching out.

“I got up two or three times in the last couple of years and read the paper where I’d passed away,” he explained (quote via Rolling Stone). “So I just wanted to let ’em know that’s a lot of horses–t.”

The clip also features the famous sweater gifted to the legendary singer by rapper Snoop Dogg. “Smoke weed every day,” the ugly Christmas sweater reads, further bonding the two over their shared appreciation for marijuana.

God’s Problem Child, featuring “Still Not Dead,” is out now.
