Year In Review: 2012 Country Engagements

Love was surely in the air this year in Nashville!

Quite a few Country artists including Lee Brice, Ashley Monroe of the Pistol Annies, and Kelly Clarkson got engaged in 2012. While some, like Jake Owen, may have tied the knot already, others are busy planning weddings for 2013.

Here’s a recap of the year in engagements….

Lee Brice popped the question to longtime love Sarah Reevely while vacationing in Key West, FL in January. The couple is reportedly planning a destination wedding for the spring of 2013.

Tom Gossin (of Gloriana) proposed to longtime girlfriend Jaime Moffett in March of this year. Gossin surprised Moffett when he dropped down on one knee on a rooftop in Atlanta on their 10th anniversary.

Show Dog-Universal’s Jessie James got engaged to Denver Broncos receiver Eric Decker in April. The couple plans to wed in Colorado next summer.

Jake Owen surprised girlfriend Lacey Buchanan and a hometown crowd filled with thousands of adoring fans on April 7 when he popped the question on stage during a concert. The couple wed on the beach just a few weeks later.

Ashley Monroe of the Pistol Annies announced her engagement to Chicago White Sox starting pitcher John Danks via Twitter in September. The singer-songwriter is currently planning the wedding.

Kelly Clarkson said “YES” when boyfriend Brandon Blackstock asked for her hand in marriage earlier this month. Blackstock, who manages Blake Shelton, is also Reba’s stepson!

Singer/songwriter and former “The Voice” contestant Gwen Sebastian is engaged to her drummer, Louis Newman. Sebastian announced the news just two days before Christmas.
