Year In Review: 2012 Country Weddings

After taking a look back at the year’s engagements, we’re now recapping 2012’s Country weddings!

It was quite the year for weddings, that’s for sure!

Two members of Lady Antebellum, Dave Haywood and Hillary Scott, said their “I Do’s” (not to each other), plus a Pistol Annie and a number of other Country music favorites also tied the knot.

Here’s a look back at 2012’s Country weddings…

Lady Antebellum’s Hillary Scott wed drummer Chris Tyrrell in January. The couple exchanged vows just before sunset at the historic Appel Inn near Albany, New York. The newlyweds recently announced that they are expecting their first child next summer.

Danny Gokey married model Leyicet Peralta on January 29 in Florida. The couple’s wedding theme was “romance and love.” The couple didn’t waste any time expanding their family. They will welcome their first child in January.

Matt Stillwell and longtime girlfriend Lindsey Crawford got married in Sin City at the Vegas Wedding Chapel on March 22. Stillwell’s tour bus broke down, so they took advantage of the opportunity and tied the knot!

Stealing Angels’ Tayla Lynn wed Jon Finger on April 6 in Anacapri, Italy. Tayla, who is Loretta Lynn’s grand-daughter, stayed true to her Country roots, wearing cowboy boots under her wedding dress.

Lady Antebellum’s Dave Haywood and record label executive Kelli Cashiola said “I Do” in April on a private farm just outside of Nashville. The couple, who had been friends for nearly six years prior to getting engaged, were surrounded by family and friends, including Lady A’s Hillary Scott and Charles Kelley, on their big day.

Carter’s Chord’s Becky Robertson and producer/musician Jeremiah Scott tied the knot at the end of April. The couple’s ceremony was held outdoors in Franklin, TN. Emily and Joanna, Becky’s sisters and bandmates, were bridesmaids.

Jake Owen and his wife Lacey were married just weeks after they got engaged. The beachside ceremony took place in May, in Jake’s hometown of Vero Beach, FL. Jake told People at the time that “I’m looking forward to being a husband, someone his wife relies and leans on. The couple recently welcomed a baby girl, Olive Pearl.

In May, Pistol Annies’ Angaleena Presley wed her longtime boyfriend, Jordan Powell. The two were married in a private ceremony in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Powell is also tour manager for fellow Annie, Miranda Lambert.

Wynonna wed drummer Cactus Moser in June at Judd’s Leiper’s Fork, Tennessee farm. The famous singer’s mother and sister did not attend the ceremony, however. This was Wynonna’s third trip down the aisle.

Hannah Blaylock of Edens Edge was also married in 2012. The singer wed longtime boyfriend Justin Wakefield on September 30 on a farm near her hometown in Arkansas. Baylock’s bandmates also took part in her big day. Dean Berner was an usher, and Cherrill Green was a bridesmaid.

Trailer Choir’s “Big Vinny” Vincent Hickerson wed his longtime girlfriend, Lori Diaz. After proposing at the Grand Ole Opry, the couple officially tied the knot on October 11 in Goodlettsville, TN. Lori’s 10-year-old son Brennon participated in the big day, acting as Vinny’s Best Man. Hickerson’s former band mate Marc “Butter” Fortney attended with his wife Emily Robertson, of Carter’s Chord.

Country newcomer Thomas Rhett wed longtime girlfriend Lauren Gregory this fall. Thomas and Lauren, who have known each other since the first grade, wed just outside of Nashville on October 12.
