“They say we got a little storm y’all…I ain’t scared though,” Gilbert assured fans. “Y’all, we’re going to party.”
Gilbert’s Devil Don’t Sleep Tour made its way to the beachside venue Thursday (July 13) and did not disappoint. A crowd of nearly 15,000 showed up in full force to sing along with Gilbert, who performed a number of his radio hits as well as tracks from his latest release, The Devil Don’t Sleep.
His rock-infused set drummed up multiple “U-S-A” chants from the crowd, particularly when he sang the fan-favorite, “One Hell of an Amen.”
The soon-to-be father got a bit emotional when talking about his wife and dedicated the song, “The Outlaw In Me” to his wife Amber, who is due with their first child in November.
The Georgia native brought next-level production, complete with three LCD screens and a plethora of pyrotechnics. He constantly interacted with the crowd, passing out high fives and handshakes whenever he had the chance.
Warming up the stage for Gilbert was Luke Combs, who recently earned his very first chart-topping single with the song “Hurricane.” Although he is fairly new to the scene, Combs’ set was impressive and engaging. In fact, a lot of fans seems to know the words to his songs even though his album only dropped last month.
His set concluded with “Hurricane,” which evoked a massing sing-a-long from the crowd.
