Calia By Carrie Underwood Makes Its New York Fashion Week Debut
Carrie Underwood was in ‘The Big Apple’ on Wednesday (9/10) for the New York Fashion Week debut of Calia By Carrie Underwood, her fitness and lifestyle brand.
The superstar was on-hand for the event, which showcased the brand’s newest styles and allowed attendees to purchase pieces from the new fall collection.
“We just wanted everything to be fun and energetic, and I feel like we definitely accomplished that,” she told PeopleStyle at the event. “It was nice to kick off fashion week in a fun way and hopefully make everyone smile.”
The “Smoke Break” singer also enjoyed helping guest select pieces at the show, which is something that normally doesn’t happen during Fashion Week.
“Usually, you have to wait — you see these fabulous things on the runway, but you’re like, ‘Oh, it’s for next season,’” she said. “We wanted to make sure people can see the looks and then get them.”
The Oklahoma native donned black Calia leggings and a striped off-the-shoulder top. She completed her look with metallic gold wedge sneakers.
“The leggings are so comfortable,” she gushed. “But we wanted to dress it up more with the shoes, and show what else you could do with these pieces. But I could also throw on some tennis shoes with this outfit and workout.”
Calia’s versatility is something that the new mom loves now more than ever.
“I think it [the birth of son Isaiah] was perfect the timing, because I need clothes like this more than ever now,” she shared. “I don’t have a lot of time to fuss in the morning getting myself together. I have to grab things that are cute and can fit with me all day long. My life as a mom has definitely made clothing like this absolutely necessary for me. So I’m glad I have lots of it.”
Fellow country star Kelsea Ballerini, who was in NYC to help announce the CMA Awards nominees on Wednesday morning, stopped by the event to to support Underwood. How sweet!
