Although Dierks Bentley may distinguish himself from country music with his more rugged approach to his style, he never considers himself to be a fashion icon.

Nevertheless, Bentley decided to throw his hat into the ring when it came to designing a brand new men’s clothing line alongside Flag & Anthem. Known for their casual looks in the fashion world filled with t-shirts and basics for Desert Son, the country singer thought the collaboration would match up to his ensemble quite nicely and not stretch him too far outside of his comfort zone in that regard.

“I can’t say I’m overly fashion-oriented,” Bentley said to People. “So I think that is something unique about our thing. It is not meant for fashion people. It is meant for people like me, that when they were 17 years old, they saved up enough money to go buy a pair of Lucky jeans because they were the cool jeans to have back then.”

Focusing on somewhat of a vintage or throwback vibe to his line, Bentley debuted items like faded shirts and cozy hoodies among other laidback items that every guy needs in his wardrobe. Keeping together both elements of informal to dressy, the Arizona native hope the designs reflect upon his own on-stage persona and match what his fans want to buy as well.

“I kinda dress like my audience in some way,” Bentley said. “Not on purpose! It’s just who I am. Guys come to the show with their girl and they want to wear something that looks nice, but also something that their guy friends aren’t going to make fun of them for wearing. I think we do a good job of balancing that.”

Always breaking it back down to a comfy top and some tight jeans, Bentley wanted his Flag & Anthem partnership to replicate his chilled-out persona in both his clothing and personality choices.

“I am really a creature of habit. When I find something I like, I wear the heck out of it. Plus, simplifying it down a bit makes for a much easier morning,” he explained.
