Brad Paisley On Hosting the CMA Awards with Carrie Underwood: ‘We Really Have a Good Thing Going On’

Country Music superstars Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood are gearing up to host the CMA Awards for the fifth consecutive year.

Parade recently caught up with the dynamic duo to discuss their hosting duties they prepare for “Country Music’s Biggest Night.”

“We were scared to death the first year, but we really have a good thing going now,” Paisley told the magazine of how they’ve evolved over the years. “Carrie’s got this graceful, beautiful, funny persona, and I’m sort of everything else!
”

Speaking of Carrie, they asked her the question everyone wants to know – how many outfit changes to expect! “As many as I have time for,” she said. “I’ve tried on a million dresses. Luckily, Brad lets me have the bigger dressing room.”

While we’ll have to wait until Thursday to see Carrie’s fashion choices, one thing’s for certain, Brad will keep one tradition going.

“Every year, I send flowers to Carrie with a card that says, ‘Good luck — Don’t mess this up!’ It’s part of the ritual.”

“The 46th Annual CMA Awards” airs live from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Thursday, Nov. 1 (8:00-11:00 PM/ET) on ABC.
