Brad Paisley & Wife to Guest Star on ‘Sesame Street’ Special

Brad Paisley and his wife, actress Kimberly Williams Paisley, will guest star on the upcoming Sesame Street special “Growing Hope Against Hunger.” Sesame Street developed the new special to help parents and children communicate about the widespread issue of hunger in the United States.

According to a press release, “Growing Hope Against Hunger” speaks to both children and adults with a story that celebrates the importance of community. Families will join the Paisley’s and their Sesame Street friends—including Elmo, Rosita, Grover and Bert—as everyone works to help one another. While collecting foods at a food drive and from a community garden, the Sesame friends meet Lily, a new character whose family has an ongoing struggle with hunger. Together, Lily’s family finds strength in helping others who are experiencing similar circumstances. Through animations and songs, the Sesame characters understand what Lily is going through and how their simple actions, such as planting a seed, can make a world of difference. The special’s documentary stories share children’s perspectives on food insecurity and illuminate the impact hunger has on families.

“Growing Hope Against Hunger” premieres Sunday, October 9, at 7pm on PBS.
