Carrie Underwood: ‘Blown Away’ is a ‘Mini-Movie in Song Form’

Superstar Carrie Underwood will debut her highly anticipated “Blown Away” music video tonight on E! News and on the homepage of E! Online. Fan have been anxiously awaiting the premiere of the music video since she released a teaser last month.

Underwood recently opened up about the song that tells the story of a very troubled family.

“You can see everything in your head as the song’s playing. It’s so, so visual…it’s a mini-movie in song form,” she says. “It really is. And your brain fills in all the gaps.”

Carrie continues, quoting the lyrics “Mama was an angel in the ground.”

“We don’t know how she got that way. Maybe it was Dad’s fault. I don’t know. You know, he was a bad guy,” she explains. “And then the girl in the story has done nothing wrong. Dad made his own bed, and Dad got drunk, and Dad passed out again. And when the storm’s coming, it’s like she knows. She knows in her heart that this is what’s about to happen. She can feel it. She just leaves him there. She’s done nothing wrong…she’s like an unlikely…she’s not a heroine ’cause she hasn’t done anything, but it’s just such a visual song. And you feel bad for her, and then you feel good for her when the song is over that a horrible, negative part of her life is over with, and she can start over because she made it.”

We expect that the video will be very dramatic. After all, Underwood says the song is a “beautiful movie in song form,” so we’re betting the video will be like a mini-movie as well.

Don’t forget, “Blown Away” will premiere during a 24-hour exclusive window domestically and internationally on E! News at 7 and 11:30 p.m. ET/PT and on the homepage of E! Online.
