Carrie Underwood Isn’t Ready To Slow Down

Carrie Underwood just wrapped up her highly successful “Carnival Ride” tour last weekend. The tour, sponsored by Vitamin Water, included 137 live shows and attendance reached nearly 1.2 million! The numbers speak for themselves- Carrie was officially named the top selling country female touring artist of 2008.

2008 was clearly a huge year for Carrie, and like Brad Paisley, she’s ready to make 2009 even better. Carrie is ready to get back in the studio to record her third album.

“I’m a lot more comfortable with the process,” she told the Associated Press. “I have two good albums under my belt, and now I can focus on what I really want to do and say.”

She hopes to be involved in the song writing process on the next album even more than she was with her last album, Carnival Ride.

“I’m getting more comfortable with my writing abilities,” she said. “I know that they’re there now. In the beginning I was like ‘I’ll try it, and if I can’t I won’t mess with it again.’ But I’m not one of those people that has to write every song because there are so many people out there who are great writers. But it is important to at least try.”
