Danny Gokey Makes Movie Debut This Weekend

Danny Gokey makes his movie debut this Saturday with a special appearance in the made-for-TV film, Truth Be Told. Danny says that it's a brief part in the film, which stars Candace Cameron Bure, David James Elliott, and Ronny Cox, but that he'd love to follow the “Elvis model” of creating a career that would allow him to sing and act.

“I'm singin' two songs in a movie. It's not a huge part, but it's a beginning of what I want to get involved with, with my music career,” Gokey says.”I'm playin' myself, but the storyline behind myself is fictional. I'm livin' in, I believe New Mexico, and I got a ranch out there — a nice, multi-million dollar ranch — and I live next to another millionaire, and he brings me in to sing for some of his friends. And it was great, man. I love…man, I love bein' in front of the camera, so that was a great opportunity, and it's just cool.”

If Gokey has it his way, this won’t be his last acting gig.

“Think about Elvis. Elvis sang, and he acted. That's me! I want to sing and act. I mean, what's wrong with that, you know? And I feel like this is just the start of what's gonna happen this year.”

Truth Be Told premieres this Saturday, April 16th, at 8pm ET, on FOX!
