Eli Young Band Expresses Excitement Over ‘Even If It Breaks Your Heart’
Following the immense success of their single “Crazy Girl,” the Eli Young Band is celebrating their latest hit, “Even If It Breaks Your Heart.”
The single, which was recently certified gold for sales over 500,000 copies, is the band’s fastest rising single to date. Mike Eli credits the song’s success to last year’s ACM Award-winning “Crazy Girl.” “I think ‘Crazy Girl’ was a blessing for us and really set things up in a huge way for ‘Even If It Breaks Your Heart,'” Eli says.
He also added that “In some ways, (the new single) is an even more important song to us, because it tells the story of our band, and people are understanding that we’ve been doing this for a long time and we really went out there and tried to sacrifice everything we could to make our dreams happen.”
And although the Eli Young Band never expected the recognition they are receiving, they are taking it all in stride. “I think we’re so used to being the underdog that it just feels like out of nowhere we’ve kind of arrived and people are aware of who we are,” says bass player Jon Jones.
