Gary Allan ‘Finished’ with New, ‘More Rocking Album’

It’s been more than two years since the release of Gary Allan’s latest studio album Get Off on the Pain. Fans itching for new music from the country-rocker won’t have to wait too much longer. The singer tells the Bangor Daily News that he “just finished” his new album.

“I turned it in two days ago, and right now we’re mastering it,” he reveals. “It’s a really up album. It’s a more rocking album than I’ve ever done. It covers everything from breaking up to healing.”

While the album is still untitled and no official release date has been set, Gary has selected the first single.

“The first song is called “A Tough Goodbye” and it really goes from there. It goes from anger to healing. I’m in Nashville right now, recording. I got to wake up in my own bed. It was nice.”

Gary says this new project, like every album before, will reflect where he’s at in his life.

“It’s totally about my frame of mind,” he says. “If I’m a mess, then I think it’s going to be a mess. If I’m partying, I think it’s gonna be a huge hit! It’s a mirror to whatever I’m going through. Music has always been very therapeutic for me. When friends come over to write, it’s very open.”

The album is expected to hit stores later this year. In the meantime, fans can catch Gary on the Country Throwdown tour this summer.
